About us

We built the prep we wish we'd had.

AP Maxing started with a handful of students at Simi Valley Unified School District who sat the same AP exams you're studying for right now — AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, and the rest of the lineup. We know what it's like to walk out of an exam unsure whether an answer we understood cold on paper actually earned the points, because there was no real way to practice free-response answers against an actual rubric before test day.

The free resources we found were thin — a few practice questions, no feedback, nothing that told us where we were actually weak. The paid ones were either priced like a subscription service aimed at parents' credit cards, or built for a general audience instead of the actual AP course and exam format. So we built the thing we wanted for ourselves: a free diagnostic for every unit, real lessons that cover the full official curriculum, and AI-graded free-response practice scored against the same kind of rubric a real AP reader uses — not a keyword match pretending to be feedback.

Why $15, and not free — or $50

Running this costs real money: hosting, a database, and every AI-graded free-response answer is an actual API call, not a free trick. $15, one time, per subject is priced to cover those costs — not to turn a profit. There's no subscription, no upsell, no ads. You pay once and you have everything for that subject, for good.

What we actually care about

A lot of students who could earn a 5 end up with a 3 or a 4 — not because they didn't understand the material, but because they never got real practice with real feedback before the exam that actually counts. That's the gap we're trying to close. If this site helps even one more student walk out of that exam room with the A they actually earned, it did its job.
